Collecting Clothing for the Displaced People of Ukraine

Over 10.5 million people from Ukraine have been displaced from their homes, and that number continues to grow daily.

Imagine leaving behind your home and trying to pack what you need most into just a suitcase or two, with no idea what lies ahead.

That has been the reality for many Ukrainian families over the past several weeks, primarily women and children. Many people and organizations are seeking ways to help, and one way to do this is providing clothing and supplies for the families beginning this uncertain chapter in their temporary homes.

With that in mind, we have set up a donation bin at our café location (118 S. Ridge St.) in Breckenridge to collect clothes and put together a humanitarian shipment that will be distributed through Nova Poshta Global. Nova Poshta is a Ukrainian mailing company that has set up a corridor to get humanitarian aid from the United States to organizations that are working on the front lines of this distribution effort.

We would like to emphasize that we are looking for new or close-to-new clothing for the spring/summer season for women and children, as they are the core recipients of this assistance.

Preferred Items:

  • Shirts

  • Sweaters

  • Shorts/Pants

  • Shoes

  • Hats

  • Dresses

We will also have a station to write personalized notes of support that we’ll put into the pockets of the clothing to hopefully put a smile on the recipients’ faces when they discover them.

Our clothing collection will continue through April 17, 2022

If you have any items to donate, or simply would like to write a note of encouragement to include in the shipment, be sure to stop by the cafe at 118 South Ridge Street.

Thank you for supporting the people of Ukraine!
